Plot and Crop Details

When you ask about your beds you usually tell us plot size, the crops in rotation and what you have noticed: uneven fruiting, yellowing leaves, a bed that drains slowly. That description, together with your name and email, is what we use to suggest sampling, a feeding plan or an extract blend. We do not ask for more than that until a visit is agreed.

Sampling Records

A soil and leaf sampling visit produces readings for each bed: pH, conductivity, organic matter and drainage notes. Results are returned within five working days and kept in our records against your plot, so that a seasonal feeding plan or a later re-test can be compared with the first reading. Because these records are tied to a named grower and a location, we handle them as personal information under the APPI.

Orders and Delivery

If you order a seaweed extract blend in five-litre or ten-litre batches, we also need a delivery address and a phone number for the carrier. Each batch record lists the collection date and drying method of the kelp used and the dilution we recommended for your crops; your name is attached to that record only so we can answer questions about it later.

Who Handles Your Information

Retention and Requests

Enquiries that go no further are deleted after twelve months. Sampling results and feeding plans are kept for three growing seasons, which is usually long enough to see whether a bed has responded. To view, correct or delete your information, write to info@kelp-corelab.com or to Kelp Core Lab, 2-10-31 Chuo, Joto-ku, Osaka 536-0005. We reply within two weeks, and you may also contact Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission.

Photographs of Your Beds

Photographs you send of leaves, fruit or bed surfaces help us decide what to test. They are stored with your enquiry, are never published on this website and are deleted along with the enquiry if no visit follows.

Young Growers

Our services are arranged with adults responsible for a plot. If a school garden or a young grower contacts us, we ask that a teacher or parent handle the booking and any personal details.
